Product Detail & Information

All Brakes Ahoy brake parts are made in Canada, which means we employ Canadians and do not outsource work to third world countries with little or no labour laws. All brake rotors are D.O.T. and ISO 9002 approved, which means all work areas can be audited by certified auditors who verify compliance to the quality system. For you the customer, this is the added protection and assurance that each product you receive is being manufactured and processed according to  government standards.

Which Rotor is Right For Me?

Blank (OEM) Rotors

These rotors are suitable for most vehicles, primarily anyone who is just looking to change their current brakes with new ones, this would be the most cost effective option.

Cross Drilled Rotors

Is it time to change your old rotors but Blank (OEM) rotors just aren’t cutting it? Looking for that sporty look that also improves the braking capability of your vehicle? Cross drilled rotors will make this happen. Standard on many exotic and high-end cars, cross drilled rotors not only look good but also serve a purpose:

  • Increased stopping power

  • The holes aid in reducing heat and increasing gas release by creating more ventilation

  • Increased brake pad bite

  • Reduces brake pad wear

  • Provides great wet weather braking

  • Looks sporty

Slotted Rotors

Need to step up the performance of your braking system even further then what cross drilled rotors offer? Slotted rotors are perfect for high performance drivers who daily drive their vehicles but push them harder than the average driver. Sitting behind a rim, these slots give a very aggressive look and will set your car ahead of the rest. As with the cross drilled rotors, slotted rotors also have a great many benefits compared to Blank (OEM) rotors:

  • Increased stopping power

  • The slots aid in reducing heat and increase the release of gasses created by hard braking

  • The slots efficiently remove debris away from the rotors

  • Increased brake bite

  • Reduces brake pad wear

  • Provides great weather braking

  • Looks very aggressive when sitting behind a rim

Cross Drilled And Slotted

Decided that Blank (OEM) rotors aren’t for you, but can’t decide between cross drilled or slotted? Well here at Brakes Ahoy we have the answer: cross drilled and slotted rotors. This is for anyone who cannot decide between cross drilled or slotted rotors. It combines the sporty look of the cross drilled rotors with the aggressive look of the slotted rotors. The benefits include:

  • Combines the benefits of both cross drilled and slotted rotors

  • Increased stopping power

  • The holes aid in reducing heat and increasing gas release by creating more ventilation

  • Increased brake pad bite

  • Reduces brake pad wear

  • Provides great wet weather braking

  • The slots aid in reducing heat and increase the release of gasses created by hard braking

  • The slots efficiently remove debris away from the rotors

  • Looks very aggressive when sitting behind a rim

Anti-Rust Coating

At Brakes Ahoy we also offer the choice of anti-rust coatings available on all rotors: Blank (OEM), Cross Drilled, Slotted, and Cross Drilled and Slotted. These coatings are available in gold, silver, and black. The entire rotor is coated in this anti-rust coating, which means that only the contact area with the pads will not remain coated. All other areas such as the hub, outer edge and internal vain will remain protected and looking show quality.

BRAKE PADS

Hawk Performance Ceramic (PC) Brake Pads

Hawk Performance offers a premium, high performance, ultra-low dust, low noise compound called Performance Ceramic.

Performance Ceramic is engineered to reduce brake NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness), creating a quieter performing brake pad. Furthermore, the ceramic brake pad formula has a linear friction profile that allows your ABS brake system to work more effectively. With Performance Ceramic, you can expect reduced brake pad wear, lower dust output levels and a rotor-friendly brake pad.

Recommended for import domestic automobiles, luxury SUV’s, sports trucks & vans.

Today’s alloy wheel designs on premium vehicles have contributed to customer demand for a low dust performance brake product.
All Hawk Performance Ceramic brake pads provide a limited lifetime warranty, ensuring products to be free of defects from manufacturer’s workmanship and materials.

Note:
Properly bedding-in new brake pads results in a transfer film being generated at the pad and rotor interface to maximize brake performance.

Key Features

- Extremely quiet–engineered to reduce brake NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness)
- Increased stopping power
- Increased rotor life
- Extended pad life
- Ultra-low dust
- Stable friction output
- Ideal for import and domestic sports cars and luxury cars, sport trucks, vans and SUVs with light towing and hauling duty

Hawk High Performance Street (HPS) Brake Pads

Superior Stopping Power for the Street

HPS - High Performance Street disc brake pads are world renowned for increasing stopping power on your street legal vehicle. Increasing the performance of your vehicles braking system is easy when you choose Hawk Performance’s HPS braking compound. This unique Ferro-Carbon formula was developed for street performance using the safety and quality of Aerospace and Motorsports severe-duty friction technology.

The High Performance Street compound offers a higher coefficient of friction over stock brake pads and can provide you 20-40% more stopping power and higher resistance to brake fade than most standard replacement pads. Less fade means you will have a highly durable brake pad with less brake dust.

All Hawk Performance High Performance Street brake pads provide a limited lifetime warranty, ensuring products to be free of defects from manufacturer’s workmanship and materials.

Note:
Hawk Performance burnishes its High Performance Street brake pads as a final step in the factory, but all brake pads have to be bedded-in with the rotors (new or used) that they will be used against. Properly bedding-in new brake pads results in a transfer film being generated at the pad and rotor interface to maximize brake performance.

Key Features

- Increased stopping power
- High friction/torque hot or cold
- Gentle on rotors

- Extended pad life

- Low dust

- Virtually noise-free

- Ideal for import and domestic automobiles

Hawk HP Plus - Autocross & Track Brake Compound

Hawk Performance’s HP Plus brake pad compound is ideal for Autocross and Track Day drivers looking for a high performance race compound that can take the heat of the track and get you home safely without having to change the pads.

HP Plus utilizes a unique Ferro-Carbon, high-tech friction material that was developed and manufactured for sport driving in autocross, Solo II and “track day” applications. The Ferro-Carbon formulation offers lower wear rates and higher torque values than other competitive materials.

Extremely high coefficient of friction makes HP Plus the perfect upgrade over stock for high performance streetcars used in autocross competition or that experience repetitive, heavy braking.

All Hawk Performance HP Plus / Autocross brake pads provide a limited lifetime warranty, ensuring products to be free of defects from manufacturer’s workmanship and materials.

Note:
Hawk Performance burnishes its HP Plus brake pads as a final step in the factory, but all brake pads have to be bedded-in with the rotors (new or used) that they will be used against. Properly bedding-in new brake pads results in a transfer film being generated at the pad and rotor interface to maximize brake performance.

Warning! Due to the dramatic friction levels produced by this product to achieve "race-level" braking, rotor wear, noise, dust, and pad life may be affected.

Key Features

- Extremely High Friction Output
- Fade Resistant
- Worthy for Autocross & Club Racing Events
